Mental stamina is something needed to succeed in a multitude of daily tasks, from powering through a long class lecture with engagement, patiently parenting your child when at your whits end, or in this case, applying consistent effort to a longer workout.
Our mental stamina is a skill, and like any skill it's something that must be cultivated and worked at over time. We can do this by challenging ourselves in three different capacities - focusing on what we will achieve, giving up something that won't help us reach our goals, and also pouring energy into things that will help us get what we want.
