WHAT IS THE AKADEMY?

Make Yourself and 94ft Athletics present The Akademy, a 3 week in depth developmental experience for Alaskan hoopers to unlock their greatest potential on and off the court.

  • Akademies are 3 weeks long, and will run all through the spring, summer, and fall to help serious basketball players prepare for the next level. Athletes receive 15 total 60 - 75 minute training sessions AND 6 open gym runs.
  • Spots are extremely limited - we will only be taking 14 athletes for the 7th - 9th grade Akademy, and 14 athletes for the 10th - College Akademy. 6th graders wanting to participate will need to undergo an evaluation in order to be considered for the 7th - 9th grade Akademy.
  • Each Akademy includes curriculum on basketball skill development and strength and conditioning. It is taught by two of Alaska's most highly regarded basketball professionals, Alysa Horn, and Kenny Barker. Both coaches have excelled at the collegiate and professional level, winning multiple championships in their careers. Their focus now is helping young hoopers pursue their own journeys to greatness both on and off the court.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you offer sibling discounts?
It depends. Because space is so limited, we need to offer the first 14 spots at full price. If you want to waitlist your second kiddo, and all 14 spots don't fill, we will offer a 25% discount for them to participate. Thank you for understanding!
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
We have a 0 refund policy within 10 days of the start of the Akademy you have registered for. Outside of that, we understand that sometimes things come up, and will do a 90% refund. Why not 100%? Simply put, due to the fact that spots are so limited, we want to encourage full commitment on the part of our athletes when they sign up.

If you sign up for multiple Akademies, and have to cancel the second or third, we will subtract the full price for the first Akademy ($199) and then refund 90% of the remaining balance. Thanks for understanding!
why did you intentionally misspell the name of something you are claiming to be educational?
Akademy stands for Alaska Academy. Our mission with this is to provide the same opportunities for Alaskan athletes that is commonplace down in the Lower 48. Eventually, our goal is to open a facility and expand the Akademy well beyond 14 participants. We are excited you are going to be apart of the start of this movement!
WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE ALL OF THE SESSIONS BUT STILL WANT TO JOIN?
No worries, but we still need to have you pay full price. Thanks for understanding!
HOW DO I KNOW IF I'M SERIOUS ENOUGH ABOUT BASKETBALL TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS OPPORTUNITY?
Great question. We ask that you have the following:
a) Love for the game
b) 3+ years playing experience
c) Have aspirations to play beyond high school or at least maximize your high school career
d) Have a 2.7 or higher GPA in school (they call it student-athlete for a reason)
WHAT IS THE SUMMER AKADEMY WEEKLY SCHEDULE?
Skill development sessions will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12:00pm - 2:00pm (younger group 12:00pm - 1:15pm), (older group 12:45pm - 2:00pm).  Strength and conditioning sessions will be held 8:00am - 10:00am, with the older group going for the first hour and the younger group going for the second.
